The two leaders also reconfirmed the commitment of presidents, Donald Trump and Xi Jinping, in support of maintaining pressure against North Korea's nuclear and illegal ballistic programmes”, US State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert announced for the press.
“We hope China will do more because we know it can do more”, she added.
Asked about the development of discussions with Yang Yiechi, state adviser and true director of Chinese diplomacy, she stressed that the US preferred keeping private conversations with several countries, including China.
According to the official Hshua news agency, Yang has maintained Beijing's official position, remembering that the Korean issue must be resolved through dialogue and negotiations.
China advocates the idea of a simultaneous break of nuclear tests by gyni and South American military maneuvers, which was rejected by Washington.
In his conversation with Rex Tillerson, Yang Jiechi demanded, apart from others, to reinforce co-ordination of the two powers with important international issues”, Chinese state media added without providing too much detail.
“We have a constructive relationship with China, we have an exchange of ideas and information”, Nauert stressed, remembering that Donald Trump had expressed very clearly concerns about the US trade and trade deficit with the Asian giant.
