Vetevendosje estimates Ramaba is being held in custody for five months without evidence, but only on fabricated charges.
We seek justice for the court case against Sadri Ramabaja, right now, during the celebration of Kosovo's 10th anniversary of independence, to remind institutions and citizens that the job and the defeat of Kosovo's self-building and statehood still ended”, says Vetevendosje's reaction.
We still have political prisoners. They are innocent young people, imprisoned and killed, in Kosovo prisons, for their political beliefs. But they are also everyday intellectuals and activists, such as Sadri Ramabaja, who has been working for Kosovo since the '80s. Sadri Ramabaja has been held in custody for nearly five months, is not being brought to trial to face justice. His imprisonment is being extended to replace the sentence, precisely because there is no evidence against him but only fabricated accusations without a fundamental basis for truth. Sadri Ramabaya's closure in custody must be over. He was an assemblyist at the Municipal Assembly of Pristina and is a faculty legalist. Unjust imprisonment separates him from his speeches and students”, further in response.
Vetevendosje says Ramaba has always aimed at the homeland, while its “work reflects pure commitment for Kosovo and the Albanian issue”.
“For the same beliefs that were arrested decades ago by the Serbian regime, and on the same false charges, he is being held to this day, but this time by the state for which he acted for his entire life. Arrests and unjust detentions in Kosovo prisons, political background arrests should be halted. The actions of previous regimes should not be repeated, but citizens' interests should be protected, and the efforts and activities of the generation of Ukshiin Hoti” should be exalted, Vetevendosje says.
