Kosovo President Hashim Thaci in an interview for the prestigious news agency “AFP” has talked about the 10th anniversary of Kosovo's independence, the European perspective, about dialogue with Serbia and the special court.
He has said that many successes have been marked on this 10th anniversary, but challenges follow.
Speaking of Kosovo's Euro-Atlantic perspective, he has stressed that the people of Kosovo have only one vision of EU and NATO membership.
Thaci has also talked about the visa liberalisation process, as well as the association this process has with the adoption of demarcation with Montenegro.
We have to do our part. If they don't, then it will be our fault”, Thaci said, calling for the adoption of the demarcation.
He has also indicated faithful that the new EU strategy will be optimistic and concrete for the Balkans.
“The EU has been delayed with Kosovo and the Western Balkans”, it has added.
AFP writes that the European perspective of Kosovo and Serbia, however, will also depend on the success that will be achieved in the dialogue in Brussels.
“I believe dialogue is the only way to move forward for both Kosovo and Serbia “, he added, referring to the European perspective.
The President said about AFP that the year 2018 will be the year of the final and historic agreement between the two states.
Thaci has said the dialogue has also positively influenced northern Kosovo. According to him, in the north already there are police officers, Kosovo customs officers, there are freedom of movement, even the justice system is functioning.
The Serbian community is represented in Parliament and Government. We have 20 years of darkness in northern Kosovo. Anyone who has expected magical solutions has mistaken”, he stressed, on journalist's questions whether the dialogue has undergone the north.
