One man found an old plane ticket under his bed, which was worth a total of $400.

John Walker bought a plane ticket to fly to his brother's marriage in January 1999, but he could not attend the wedding, so he did not use the ticket, reports WFMY2.

When the company tried to get a write-off, it sent him a letter saying that his ticket was irreversible, but its value could be used for a future flight.

He had no plans to travel that time and so he put the ticket in one place and he forgot everything about it.

Some time later he found an old box that had been left under the bed and found that the plane's ticket was inside.

He thought he'd once tried his luck, so he called the airline client's service.

John went through some departments, but nobody knew what to do with such an old ticket.

So he decided to contact the company via the social Twitter network and get an answer later.

He was told that the original United company was bankrupt in 2002, and all debts and vouchers were destroyed - that was no longer valid.

But because his situation was so weird, they decided to honor him. Speaking of WFMY2, John said he is still trying to decide where he will fly with his new ticket, which today amounts to about $570.
