The Special Tribunal prosecutor has provided explanation about future charges, which are expected to weigh on former KLA members who raised only in allegations raised by the January 2011 Dick Marty Report.
Chris Bennett, official from the Special Prosecutor, asked whether this institution has accepted or will accept the charges filed by Serbian authorities for former KLA members. For Indexline, Bennett explained that the charges would be raised only according to claims in Dick Marty's report.
The specialised procedure is focused on fulfilling its mandate. This mandate comes from the Special Law on Specialised Chambers and Specialised Prosecutorship, which was adopted by the Assembly of Kosovo in August 2015. Under this legislation, the Specialised Prosecutor is able to investigate and prosecute serious cross-border and international crimes that have occurred during and after the conflict in Kosovo in 1998, 1999 and 2000 concerning the conduct identified in the January 2011” Marty Report, he has said.
Bennett at the end has said he does not comment on the status of the investigation.
