The OSCE Mission in Kosovo has donated today 30 bags with specialised first aid tools to the unit for special operations and the unit for quick response of the Kosovo Police.
According to this organization, the bags contain high-quality tools and will be used by units to provide first aid to injured police on duty. Special and rapid response units are exposed to danger as they offer security and maintain public order during protests or other events with potential violence.
The police work is difficult, and sometimes even dangerous, so it's very important that those who are exposed to such a risk know that they have the support and means needed to do the job the best way possible,” said Ambassador Jan Braathhu,
O Mission Chief The SEU in Kosovo, during the surrender-accession ceremony. I really hope you don't have to use it, but if necessary, you'll have good and quality tools. Your colleagues have been part of the process of selecting tools in these bags; the selection has really been a common commitment. ”
Lieutenant Colonel Nedsh Flugaj, director of Special Police Units Division, said: “This donation is a step forward in terms of improving the safety of our policemen and all those who may need first aid. ”
The OSCE mission also donated 2,000 security information cards, which could be distributed to journalists, civil society representatives and police supervisory bodies present at public gatherings. The charter is jointly prepared with the Kosovo Police and contains guidelines on how to act to avoid possible incidents during public gatherings.
