International Football Federation [ FIFA] decided to open investigations into the Russian representative football team, due to recently raised suspicion of doping, a scandal that significantly threatens the World Cup to be held this year in Russia.Members of the World Football Government's Steering Board have confirmed co-operation with Grigory Rodchenkov, the former head of Moscow's antidoping laboratory, who uncovered Russia's doping scandal at the Sochi Winter Olympics in 2014.
Rodenkov's lawyer, Jim Walden, has stated that his client and FIFA have already begun work collecting evidence against football players, who earlier witnessed at the Artitrazhi Sports Court against Russian sports players of the 2014 Winter Games, with the latter appealing the suspended sentence.
Days earlier, Rodchenkov had also talked about the Russian doping team representative for the World's 2014, adding that it became part of a scheme to hide positive performance tests from football players.

During this week, the CAS, headquartered in Lausanne, reversed the decision to permanently suspend 28 Russian athletes and reduced the sentence of another 11 athletes. However, the scandal does not end, as evidence has also proved to be on Russian footballers.
