Residents living in western London are six times richer than the average Europeans, while residents of Bulgaria's northwestern part are three times poorer, according to a study published today by the European Institute of Statistics, Eurostat.
In the EU and among member states there are considerable differences, Eurostat points out in the statement.
The Institute has compared the region for the region to GDP for residents expressed at <x0ndrate purchasing power standards, meaning considering the price differences that exist among various areas.
The richest residents in the EU live in the neighbourhoods of the western part of London, where GDP reaches 611% of the EU average.
Then residents of Luxembourg's Grand Duke (257%), of the Southeast Ireland region (217%), then of Brussels and Hamburg, in Germany (,200% in both cases), attended Ates.
“In 2016, 19 regions had a GDP per population of about 50% or more than average EU, five in Germany, three in Great Britain, two in Austria, one in Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Ireland, France, the Netherlands, Slovakia, and Sweden in the same way as in Luxembourg's Grand Dukeate”, Eurostat points out.
