PDK says it's consistent with demarcation, but there are doubts in LDK

The head of the Democratic Party of Kosovo Parliamentary Group, Memli Krasniqi, hopes tomorrow will positively conclude the issue of demarcation. Krasniqi has said his party is maintaining a consistent stance on the issue of demarcation with Montenegro, but has stressed that he has remained surprised at the LDK's stance, Periscopi reports.

“We have confirmed the PDK's consistent stance on demarcation for the border with Montenegro. We will unanimously vote on the draft demarcation law. We hope that tomorrow we will be voted and pave the way for the visa liberalisation process, the process that has been unjustly delayed for these years”, Krasniqi has said.

The joint declaration between the president of Kosovo and the Montenegrin one, Krasniqi sees only as the “added” that reconciles opponents of the issue.

“We believe that the statements of the two presidents, indeed, have been an added value that has contributed to this broader consensus”, Krasniqi said.

Furthermore, he said the concern remains the LDK's position, held today at the Foreign Affairs Commission on the issue.

“The immediate concern remains the LDK position, on the Foreign Affairs Commission where the Bill should be voted and approved. We know whether this is a change of attitude, or just a tactical political vote. We hope they will be consistent, because the interests of citizens are more important than that of each party”, Krasniqi said, Periscopi reports.

Asked by the media whether the Serbian List supports the ratification of demarcation, Krasniqi has refused to respond, saying the question should be asked for reasons Albanians do not vote on this agreement.

My wish would be for this bill to be voted by Albanians. The question should be why Albanians are not voting. I hope that we will find common language on this issue as well and I believe that conditions are ripe to cast the bill into the vote”, Krasniqi said. /Periscopi/
