Montenegro: The demarcation may have technical corrections, but there are no special changes

With the border agreement between Montenegro and Kosovo likely some technical corrections of the border line occur, but there are no particular changes. So said Montenegrin diplomacy chief Srdjan Darnovolic, reports Montenegro's RTV.

The presidents of Montenegro and Kosovo, Filip Vujanovic and Hashim Thaci, signed a joint declaration last Friday, calling on the Kosovo Assembly to ratify the state border agreements signed in Vienna on 26 August 2015.

Asked whether change of border could happen under that agreement, Darnovolic has responded that Thaci's and Vujanovic political statement confirms what already exists in the agreement, at Article 7.

“Therefore, there are no particular changes to”, the Commission has told reporters Darnovoq and has clarified that with Article 7, after they ratify the Agreement on the border of the two states, the Commission must go out on the ground and make demitation, Coha.net broadcast.

Darnovoic said it is possible that, as he put it, meters per meter to become a technical correction, which we've known from the top of times”.

The border agreement must be ratified, while this is about technical improvements that do not bring any bad results to either side in the” negotiation process, Darnovoic stressed.

He has said he hopes that Montenegrin authorities have given additional evidence to friends from Kosovo that Montenegro is staunchly loyal to that agreement.

“I hope that Kosovo institutions will find their way to ratify the Agreement with the necessary majority, in favour of good relations and Kosovo itself”, Darnovolic has indicated, Montenegro's RTV reported.
