Markovik: ratified demarcation remains in force

Montenegro's Prime Minister, Dusko Markovic, has said that Montenegro has not moved back, with annexes for demarcation signed today by Kosovo President Hashim Thaci and Montenegro's Filip Vujanovic, while adding that ratification of the border line between Kosovo and Montenegro remains [...]
A Montenegrin government statement quotes Markovic, who has expressed joy in granting Kosovo the opportunity for visa liberalisation after signing this agreement.
My “vision in Kosovo was aimed at achieving this moment, which would have to enable the ratification of demarcation in the Kosovo Assembly and transition to another phase. I want to tell you that over the last two days in our spirit of interest and common interest of the European Commission and the European Union, we have had intensive talks with Kosovo officials”.
We stressed the necessity to show responsibility and understanding when it comes to this crucial issue. During the dialogue, Montenegro expressed readiness to help Kosovo authorities create an adequate political environment in order to ratify the border agreement. Such an approach does not mean that we are moving back, but that we are moving forward. Montenegro has ratified the agreement, remains in force. We are showing our will to Kosovo authorities that we will work together under the agreement and, in line with geographical and economic reasons”, Markovik has said, the Montenegrin government's communique reports.
Markovic has said that through this agreement, Montenegro has indicated it wants a less unresolved problem in the Balkans, while adding that his country has not acted selfishly.
“in the Balkans we need to put dialogue, in the Balkans we need to understand, we need to look forward and not look back. My talks in Pristina yesterday were of that content. And today's joint statement by the presidents Vujanovic and Taci testifies to our common commitment and I believe we will have a less unresolved issue in the region that Montenegro is resolving with a high quality understanding of its neighbours and promising its full support without acting in a selfish and rigid manner “, Prime Minister Markovovic stressed./Periscopi
