“We want to give stability to Balkan countries, not instability”, Juncker said at a press conference together with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, writes Periskopi.
According to him, Brussels is committed to normalising relations between Belgrade and Pristina.
“However, it is not for us to say what the character of this agreement will be, it is between Belgrade and Pristina to determine this,” said Juncker, B92, writes Periscope.
Juncker has said relations with the Western Balkans are very important for the European Union.
The Western Balkans and Serbia must be part of the EU, the EU without them is not complete. The EU is not exclusive property of current members and other countries wanting to enter. Serbia has made the greatest progress so far, but that is normal, we have negotiated for some time. The others will start negotiations ... The accession date is not up to us, but only from Serbia, “said Juncker, the Periscopi broadcast.
Juncker has also cited Serbia's progress on the road to integration, and has said 2025 is not a promise, but only an encouragement and an opportunity for all countries wishing membership. /Periscopi/
