At the end of February, officials from the EU are expected to stay in Kosovo, where it will talk to the Kosovo government and EULEX, to come up with a proposal later.
Justice Minister Abelard Tahiri, in charge of preparing the transitional phase, says the country's law enforcement agencies are willing to continue their only job.
Although it does not provide details about their future involvement, what Tahiri ensures is that by July, there will be no EULEX judges and prosecutors handling subjects.
Nearly a decade of EULEX in Kosovo, Ehat Miftaraj from the Kosovo Institute for Justice, divides them into two parts: the quick start and assistance in establishing capacities for local judges and prosecutors, and then what he calls politicalisation.
In addition to the advisory role, competencies linking with the work of the Special Court will be another reason for the European mission to remain engaged in Kosovo.
