The air pollution that has occurred for many years in Pristina has never before prompted the response of institutions like now, when Pristina was found amid noise and public pressure to prevent air pollution. While welcomed, the measures that institutions took, for environmental experts, MPs and citizens, were delayed.
Delayed reactions call environmental experts, MPs and citizens the response of state institutions to alarming air pollution in the Kosovo capital, writes today “Koha Ditore”.
The air pollution that has occurred for many years in Pristina has never before prompted the response of institutions, as now, when Pristina was found amid noise and public pressure to prevent air pollution, as measurement data in recent days drew Pristina through the world's most polluted air.
Public pressure resulted in the release of a decision by the Pristina municipality to start implementing a package of anti-level pollution measures, the ban on driving in the central Pristina area began. Then organising a protest on the day when the Kosovo Assembly had scheduled to hold an extraordinary session on the issue of environmental pollution, as well as the Municipal Assembly of Pristina called for extraordinary sessions on the same topic.
