It is not questioned that Germany is the sole responsibility for the Holocaust, German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel has said, following reactions facing neighbouring Poland for its controversial Holocaust legislation.

The Polish Senate has adopted legislative amendments to regulate vocabulary regarding the Holocaust and other crimes of the Nazi era on February 1st.
This procedure must be signed by the president, Andreze Duda, who has warned support.
The United States, Israel, Ukraine and other states have sharply criticised this bill, under which anyone accusing Poland or its citizens of co-operation in Nazi crimes could be sentenced to imprisonment for up to three years.
Critics have said this could allow the government to object to cases in which Polish co-operation has been true and this would contain free speech or Holocaust-related studies.
The Poles have been fighting for years against using the phrase “Polish death campaign”, as it is considered that Poland has been at least responsible for the deaths of persons there.
These camps were built by the Nazis when they took control of Poland in 1939.
