“He told me sit at a table with al-Assad and discuss the Syria issue,” said Erdogan, referring to the call for conversation by Republican People's Party leader (CHP), Kemal Kilicdaroglu, reports “Hurriyet”, the Periscopi broadcast.
“What can we talk about of a killer who killed his 1 million civilians? he added, during a speech to neighborhood leaders who had visited the presidential complex in Ankara's capital.
You yourself can go side by side with terrorists if necessary... But we have never walked with those who take this path before and we will not do this in the future,” added Erdogan.
Speaking to CHP officials on 6 February, Kılıcdaroğlu urged the government to establish contacts with the al-Assad regime in order to resolve the conflict in Syria.
On January 20th, Turkey launched military operation “The Dega of Olivet” to clear YPG militants in northwest Syria. /Periscopi/
