Croatia under snow

Major snowfalls and strong winds have caused schools in some areas of Croatia to close, meanwhile, the flow of vehicles into some street axes is limited.

Croatian authorities have said today that major weather problems are in the mountainous region of Gorksi Kotar, where the military has joined efforts to unblock roads from snow.

Local official Ivica Knezevic has said that heavy snowfall “are still dropping”. Authorities have said that many schools have stopped learning, since heavy vehicles have been banned from circulation in the region.

Meanwhile, powerful winds have caused many major roads along the Adriatic coast to close for circulation, while the speed of moving vehicles on highways has decreased. The bad weather has also stopped sailing commercial boats.
