COMMF: Cutting off the learning process damages children's best interest

The Coalition of NGOs for Children's Protection in Kosovo has carefully followed recent events in the education process in the schools of the Republic of Kosovo, characterised with obstructing the learning process by striking teachers. COMMF suggests that the learning process for no reason dares cease [...]
KOMF suggests that the learning process for no reason can be stopped by any acts within the education process and abroad. Cutting off the teaching process as a move is in complete conflict with the best interest of children and violates the right to education guaranteed with international instruments and legal acts from the Convention on the Rights of Children to the Law for Pre-university Education of the Republic of Kosovo.
We as a coalition understand the fair and legitimate concern of teachers who address their dissatisfaction with issues related to their position and the teaching process, but we do not support any form of protest which presents an obstacle to the success of the learning process. Child labor in school hours hinders the learning process, causes children to get stuck in school, creates conditions for children in protest hours to face conflict and violence between peers, and waiting for start-ups.
The KOMF appeals to local institutions and educational institutions to try to find a suitable solution to exits from the crisis, and not victimise children for the realisation of their interests but to engage in increased quality and improved learning conditions within schools. As a society, we need to engage strongly in advancing teaching quality and teaching skills received on the basis of the assessment of the students' international assessment programme “PISA”, which has ranked Kosovo 68th in the midst of 72 states that have submitted to this assessment.
