The Central Election Commission marked Global Election Day for six consecutive times.
In this day's case, the new Central Election Commission website was launched at a solemn event, with the aim of making it easier to reach the public on election-related information.
At this ceremony, attended by leaders of various institutions and representatives of civil society, CEC head Valdete Daka spoke. She said that “through the Global Election Day note we want to express our commitment as an institution that we will continue to serve all citizens fairly vote, in realising the fundamental right of democracy to choose and select”.
She added that today's product, the CEC's new website, is not only a better design compared to the previous page, but it is a fundamental commitment to advancing transparency and enabling easier access to information for citizens/votings, political subjects, civil society, etc.
The detailed presentation of the CEC site's content was made by SCEC Chief Executive Chief Enis Halimi.
The Central Election Commission has marked Global Election Day since 2013. Every first Thursday of February, the CEC organises different events for marking this day. In addition to launching the website, Senior Municipal Election Officials have held meetings with seniors where it has been discussed the importance of participating young people in the election.
Global Election Day is recorded in many countries since 2005, when election experts from around the world attended the Global Conference with election officials in Hungary.
Through this conference they sent the message concerning the vital need to strengthen the democratic development process worldwide.
