During 2017 no serious criminal activity has been recorded in the territory of Berat, the figure of serious criminal events is zero.

Berat is the city that didn't register any criminal acts “suicide” during 2017.

This has been disclosed by State Police Director Ardi Veliu, who has presented the annual report on the work of blue uniforms.

In his address, Veliu said that the focus for 2018 would be, the operation against organised crime “Law Force”.

We are now at the Berat Police Department to conduct annual analysis of the work done by this director for 2017. The Berat Police Department has had positive results. It is noteworthy that no serious criminal offense has been recorded in this territory during 2017 - the figure of serious criminal events is zero. As I would like to stress that the number of accidents with serious consequences - with fatal consequences - is extremely low compared to other local police directors.

Asked whether there would be reform in the police, Veliu pleaded:
“No, there will be no reforms in the police. There will be restructuring or reshaping in the police to make the structure more efficient and flexible. ”
