He said this event marks another great birthday in the range of the great birthdays of our people, the birthday of the Kosovo Army.
The Speaker of the Parliament said that the Albanian nation during its existence never attacked anyone, never harbored ambition at the expense of others, and hate never took place in the hearts of its members.
And what we wanted was to protect ourselves, our homeland, our dignity and our freedom. And that's why we just remember the last two historical movements: The movement of peaceful resistance of the 1990s and the Kosovo Liberation Army. We know, surely, and no doubt; but even the near future will confirm the full righteousness of our redeeming cause, and of all those who bear this cause upon their shoulders. Following his speech, Wessel added that Kosovo's future is secure and has only one name: integration into the large Euro-Atlantic family.
“We have been, we are, and we will be in permanent friendship with the United States and other Western countries, which we thank for the unexpected help they gave our people for freedom, statehood and now for Army”, Veselin said.
The head of the Parliament said the Kosovo Army would continue this human definition witnessed as a people throughout history, namely an army for itself and the democratic world. Distorted in security terms, Chief Parliamentary Veselin added: an army for the security of the country, an army for democratic stability and peace in our region, an army in the alliance with NATO and in service of the values of freedom and democracy.
He said the Kosovo Army will reflect the Euro-Atlantic vision of our state, the constitutional order of the Republic of Kosovo, and our vast human and cultural wealth -- the ethnic communities of Kosovo. Kosovo Army “Uniform will be an honorary uniform and pride for Kosovo Albanians, for Serbs, for Turks, Bosniaks, Montenegrins, Roma, Ashkali and Kosovo Egyptians. The Kosovo Army uniform will be a uniform of peace, good neighbourly and the North-Atlantic Alliance. Congratulations to all Kosovo citizens, wherever they live and act at home and diaspora”, said Parliament Speaker Kadri Wessel.
