Thaci decrees law package for justice reform

President Hashim Thaci, based on his constitutional competencies, has announced today the decree of eight justice sector laws adopted by the Assembly of Kosovo.
President Thaci has decreed the package of laws for reform in the justice system, the Criminal Code, the Court Law, the Law for Disciplinary Reservation of Judges and Prosecutors, the Law on Protection of Signals, the Law for Equipment for Confisciency of Riches, the Law for the Kosovo Judicial Council, the Law for Change and completion of the Law on Heritage in Kosovo, as well as the Law for Changing and the completion of the Law on Noncompetitive Procedure.
President Thaci has praised the work done in reforming the rule of law sector.
“The efficiency of rule of law is vital to the functioning of democracy. Education, health and employment policies cannot be advanced without quick access to justice. For young people, justice is the only opportunity for the best future”, President Thaci has said.
It has asked the law enforcement institutions of this sector to lead to change, implementing laws and protecting citizens' public interest.
The ongoing fight by Kosovo anti-corruption institutions is not only meeting EU required standards, but it is necessary”, said President Thaci, according to the media statement.
The head of state has stressed that this is the obligation we have taken to citizens to improve their welfare and our state to contribute to building a strong rule of law.
