The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development in co-operation with the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) have organised the workshop “Development of the MBPHR capacity for improving commercialisation between small farmers and existing farmers” today. Analyses for development and the advancement of small farms have been presented through which the best possible ways to improve commercialism between small farmers and existential farmers are presented. In addition, UKPHR development policies and investments have been introduced to support small farms.
In this case, MBPZHR Secretary-General Kaplan Halimi has indicated that this ministry with cross-sectorial strategic policies and in full harmony with the European Union's Common Agricultural Policy is oriented into increasing production capacities and creating the conditions that are favourable for local producers, so that a sustainable development can be achieved for the country to join the development trends of EU countries.
The Ministry of Agriculture, in its support programmes, investments are also directed to small farms, and through these investments we intend to further increase the competitiveness of farms in agricultural productivity, and improve working conditions on these farms. Investments in farms and agriculture are vital to advance and commercialise the agriculture sector, prompting it to become more and more oriented towards market requirements”, Halimi said.
On the other hand, U.d. Chief of the Agency for Agriculture Development, Ekrem Gjonaj, has said that through implementation of this year's Direct Paying Programme and the Agriculture and Rural Development Programme have succeeded in supporting large numbers of farmers in the country, as well as a large number of agribusinesses.
