A study conducted at Groningen University used brain scans to find out why socks are desirable during sex.

Researchers found that 80 percent of women involved had orgasms while wearing socks, while only 50 percent could have bare legs.

The reason for this is quite simple: socks heat the feet, which improves the flow of blood and helps to sleep faster and increases the chances of an orgasm.
