Rama acquitted of fees on students, warns revision of university autonomy

So said Edi Rama at a meeting of university reactors and deans.

“Do not hide and take responsibilities in a situation where responsibility is very clear. If the day has come for you to do this, we must review university autonomy”, the head of government said.

Prime Minister Edi Rama added that the entire board of administration at universities should be dismissed and replaced by people with public profiles.

I heard the administration board has a majority elected by the government. Yeah, because the government is the main funder. I wanted to know a case when a proposal for managing board came to a university and was hampered by the government? Not a chance. The government has not hindered any decision making. I'm not saying the board worked well, I even think the board should be completely downloaded and replaced by people with public profiles.
