Not to maintain the city's cemetery do many complaints have citizens, but such criticism is carried by the ombudsman, under which the state of the cemetery in the capital is depressing.
The maintenance of the cemetery under the Law for Local Self-Government belongs to municipalities, and criticisms of the cemetery situation in the capital are accepted first of this Shpend Ahmeti municipality. He says that in 2019 they will make a more concrete plan for investment or reshuffle of the city's cemetery.
Citizens Idriz Islami, who lives near the city's cemetery, says they are not being adequately maintained.
It also has criticism regarding space from one grave to the next, which says that when you attend the funeral ceremony, it is impossible to move to the cemetery without stepping into the grave.
The same criticism goes to Izet Saraqi, who says even cleanliness is not at the right level.
Even Ismet Saraqi has indicated that the cemetery in Pristina is not being maintained as it should be.
Still, there are others who think differently. For citizen Zymer Rushiti, the state of the cemetery is very good.
Numerous criticisms of the state of the cemetery in the capital include ombudsman Hilmi Jashari, who says the state of the cemetery is not good.
On this subject, days ago the Ombudsman's institution has also released a report of recommendations that give numerous criticisms.
According to lawyer Jashari, the maintenance of the cemetery shows a respect for the dead and their family members, who may visit family graves for various occasions.
According to Jashar, the Pristina municipality with very little budget could regulate the state of the cemetery, and for that it says the municipality has office under the law.
To maintain the cemetery in the capital, the company “Horticulture”, where, according to director Isak Rakovica, lack of financing causes its trouble in maintenance of the cemetery.
He says that in order to have better maintenance, it would have to have this company financed.
For all these criticisms, an answer has Pristina municipality chairman Shpend Ahmeti, who has said they are working to make a concrete plan about investing or reorganisation of the cemetery in 2019.
For that, he says there should be a discussion with religious communities in Kosovo.
Pristina's first one says one must be found a way to organise the cemetery, as according to him it cannot continue with the expansion of the cemetery all the time.
The Ombudsman's institution, except for Pristina, has released reports with recommendations almost all of Kosovo's municipalities, which according to reports the cemetery situation is not good, writes the KP.
