Among the largest number who with their work testified that Kosovo is not only the birthplace of the glutton powerful and infertile politicians, there are those next five, who “Koha Ditore” selected as a symbol of what Kosovo wants and can reach every field.
Vasfije Krasniqi-Godman. A courageous woman who refused to keep the garment of the humiliated and silent victim, and raised her voice on behalf of all victims of sexual violence during the Kosovo war. Her voice echoed society and state institutions, which still face the past and crimes committed 20 years after the war.
Thanks to Vasfije, the truth for wartime crimes does not remain hidden, while as a result of rumours like this state was forced to begin with recognising the status of about 20,000 victims of war-1999 sexual violence.
For next year, society remains to continue in insisting that justice for victims be established. Vasfie and her friends started it, but we all have to keep going.
