Christmas is officially the most popular day of the year to propose for engagement or marriage to a partner.

While the preferred season of marriages continues to be in summer, most males choose to kneel at Christmas, replacing Valentine's Day.

“Chill Sauce”, a company specialising in hosting events, observed 10,000 people around Great Britain and found that 31% of them thought that Christmas Eve is the best day to propose, following Valentine's Day with 22% and New Year's evening at 18%.

However, the data differed between men and women, since 33% of men think that Christmas is the best way, 23% of women thought it was Valentine's Day.
