According to a new study published in “Journal British of Psychiatry”, regular commitment “cultural “ ” can help reduce the risk of older people developing depression in the old age.
Using data on more than 2,000 adults over 50 years of age from the Longwoodal English Study of Placing (ELSA), researchers found that people who participated in the exhibition watched films and / or went to theatre once a month or more were 48 percent less likely to develop depression.
Those who participated in cultural activities several times a month also benefited from a 32 - percent less risk reduction.
