In this case, Lekaj announced to other members of the ratification of the Transport Community Treaty from the Parliament of the Republic of Kosovo and its implementation by local authorities.
In addition, Lekaj briefed representatives of other states at this meeting on obstacles Serbia is making against agreements, such as this treaty. Among other things, the minister stressed that Serbia's authorities' <x0 physmics for changing Kosovo citizens' license plates into Serbia's territory, the rejection of certificates issued by Kosovo authorities, should be immediately interrupted.
He also asked the European Commission to take urgent measures to regulate transportation of travellers and goods to Kosovo operators, with all the signatory states of the Treaty.
Also discussed was the creation of facilities at border crossings and road safety, stemming from Ljubljana's statements, as well as the Joint Declaration for a new Railway Strategy in the Western Balkans aimed at improving international transport services for goods and passengers, within and across the Western Balkans.
In this way, Kosovo is actively participating in determining regional transport policies, becoming equally policymakers with other countries in the region.
Our “Priority continues to remain the completion of the country with modern road and railway infrastructure, the creation of human and goods circulation facilities, and thus the factorisation of Kosovo in the area of regional and international transport”, Minister Pal Lekaj has said in addition.
