Paddy Ashdown dies.

The Liberal Democrats Party that had once led him has announced that he died after the bladder cancer diagnosis last month.

With pain we announce that Paddy Ashdown died tonight after a short illness. He will be remembered by everyone in the party as a dear friend and colleague, and as someone who made an endless contribution to furthering our cause, it is said at the party's announcement, Periscope broadcasts.
