The Ministry of Trade for Oil reacts: We're analyzing the situation.

After it was reported that the Ministry of Trade and Industry had direct responsibility for the price of oil, a response has come in which she and Minister Shala's actions are clarified, writes Periscope.

Given that a public debate is currently under way on the price of fuels in the Kosovo Republic market, we stress that the Ministry of Commerce and Industry cabinet with professionalism is analyzing citizens' concerns from the legal angle of consumer protection.

As MTI Minister Andrit Shala's first priority is known, consumer protection in the Kosovo market, including fuel market, MTI is conveying with full focus the current market and oil state, including quality. MTI as you know, has taken a series of decisions that protect consumers who are not limited to certain areas, but how access will include all areas that we are working for every day.

As for media writings and debates and public opinion on oil prices in recent days, MTI- is analyzing current legislation including Article 11 of the Oil Trade Law, which had never been applied so far, even though the historical has provided us with information that the price of international fuel core has always moved.

MTI and the Government of Kosovo base all its decisions on accurate analysis and in line with legislation.

Minister Andrew Shala has ordered the respective departments days ago, the inspector, and has requested precise data of the current situation's explanation in terms of price movements in the international bell, with customs loads, excise and other costs, analysis that we must complete formal institutional reports.

MTI is awaiting official and final reports of institutions, and depending on their recommendation we will act as the law owes us.

Refocusing and securing consumers, citizens and businesses that the MTI and the Government of Kosovo after accurate, thorough and fair analysis of the current situation will take action and measures involved and eventual interventions not to allow price abuse at the expense of consumers.

The MTI will support any investigation on the part of the Kosovar Competition Authority to ban any secret or open business agreements in the field of fuel that have dominant position in the market, thus damaging consumers.
