A box full of minced meat pies believed to have been prepared in the 40th years of the past century has been found intact and well preserved under the floor of a hotel near the continental part of Great Britain.
Food pacts at the time served as gifts from mothers to older boys. It became available to visitors in Hotel “Loch”, Man Island, near Great Britain. The food box was found during the hotel renovation in 1998 but was later forgotten.
It is believed that poor air piercing under the hotel floor has helped preserve food for almost eighty years. The food was prepared for soldier Phil Davis and was accompanied by a letter that wrote “all the best, with love from Mother”.
Hotels in this area were used to accommodate soldiers during the war. Food may be hidden under the floor so as not to be taken from other soldiers. The found box delivered to the museum a construction worker, writes “BBC”
