A parent should not lie to his child, including negative emotions, for he helps his child become capable of solving problems in life. And the more parents show their true emotions in front of their children, whether stressed out, worried, or angry about something, the stronger their relationship becomes.
This conclusion has reached researchers from the Universitys of Washington State, Berkeley and San Francisco after a long study published in the scientific magazine “Emotion”.
According to one study researcher, Sarah Waters, when parents try to hide their emotions, whatever they may be, the feeling of negativity reaches children. This affects the creation of a state of confusion, namely, two conflicting messages that they perceive.
According to her, the course to be chosen is for a parent to transmit a healthier conflict from beginning to end. This, according to researchers, greatly helps them learn to have a regulatory sense of problems because they thus realize that they can be solved and the situation improves.
