After voting in the Kosovo Assembly of three bills that pave the way for the founding of the military, the Democratic League of Kosovo has taken a look at the tomb of the late President Ibrahim Rugova and the first defence minister, Colonel Ahmet Krasniqi.
The secretary general of this party, Ismet Beqiri, said this visit is being made in order to honour the figure of President Rugova, whose contribution, according to him, is extraordinary for building the state.
“Today is a special day for Kosovo citizens, and not only of Kosovo, for Albanians, and not only Albanians, because Kosovo's Assembly adopted three bills -- now laws -- for the formation of the Kosovo Army. We are here today to pay tribute and respect to the historic president, whose contribution is remarkable in what we are now enjoying as a state, but also to this army because President Rugova, the Democratic League of Kosovo, the soldiers of the Kosovo Liberation Army, all together since the 1990s made it possible for us to gromize what we are enjoying today. He was supreme commander of the Kosovo Army”, Beqiri said.
The LDK also paid tribute to former Defence Minister Ahmet Krasniqi's grave.
According to Beqiri Krasniqi, he has made a huge contribution to freedom and independence.
“We, as the Democratic League of Kosovo, paid tribute and expressed our great respect and thanks for a equally special man for the Kosovo Army, a meritier man like the colonel, or Republika Kosovo Defence Minister Ahmet Krasniqi, said Beqiri.
LDK Chairman Isa Mustafa through social Facebook network has congratulated on forming army
