The British-based observer has said the prisoners were among the 1,350 civilians and fighters that the IS has been keeping in a territory near the Iraqi border.
Militants of this group own a narrow belt near the Euphrates River in Syria near the town of Hyin, which this month have been exiled by forces supported by the United States.
The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), led by Kurdish militia, have faced the IS for months with the assistance of the American and special forces.
SDF Commander Mazlowm Cobani has told the news agency, Reuters last week that at least 5,000 IS fighters are located in this enclave, including some foreign people who seem ready to fight to death.
The IS self-declared California has been destroyed after various offensives in Syria and Iraq.
Despite that, some IS fighters continue to be active in several border areas between Syria and Iraq. /rel
