Environment and Spatial Planning Minister Fatmir Matoshi, along with Secretary Arben Citaku, and political advisers, has today met with the German Embassy's first secretary in Kosovo, Anja Becky, representative of the German Bank for Development for Kosovo and Macedonia ( KfW), Rene Eschemann and municipal infrastructure sector co-ordinator ( KfW), promise Islam.
During this meeting, it has been discussed on the project to build cholera in Pristina and projects to build sewage treatment plants in Prizren, Peja and Gjakova.
In this case, Minister Matoshi expressed MMPH's readiness for these projects dealing with sewage treatment.
A moment has already come that we have to deal with the environment, and it is unfathomable what positive impact the outcome of sewage plants in three major Kosovo cities, such as Prizren, Peja and Gjakova, because currently only 5 percent of Kosovo's sewage is addressed, Matos said.
The first of the MMPH, Matoshi called for the quickest construction of Pristina's sewage collection collectors.
When I assumed the minister's position, there was an agreement between the Government of Kosovo and France for building an facility in Pristina. There's also a deal in the Assembly, so this plant doesn't matter if we can't even make the water collection collectors. We should not postpone this project year after year, but we must do concrete work”, Minister Matoshi said.
Minister Matoshi said we should also commit to building other plants in Kosovo cities that have an unresolved problem with sewage.
Matoshi thanked the German state for supporting the environmental projects.
While the first secretary of the German Embassy in Kosovo, Anja Becky and other KWA representatives, during this meeting offered support for the realisation of projects dealing with sewage treatment.
Also during this meeting, Minister Matoshi and representatives of the German Development Bank ( KfUA), agreed to have monthly meetings for environmental projects.
