Australian scientists have developed a ten - minute test that can detect the presence of cancer cells throughout the human body.
The test took place after scientists at Australia's Queensland University found that contact cancer forms a unique DNA structure.
It functions that reveal the presence of the above - mentioned structure, which can help detect cancer earlier than possible now, writes Nature Communications magazine.
The discovery that cancerous DNA molecules form completely different 3D nanostructures from normal DNA was a change that enabled a completely new approach to detecting cancer in any tissue in the human body, including blood”, Professor Met Trau said.
The ten-minute test has not yet been tested on humans, and large clinical trials are necessary before patients can be used.
So far, the signs are positive, since tests conducted in more than 200 blood samples and tissues revealed cancer cells with 90 percent accuracy.
The test has been used to detect breast cancer, prostate, bladder, and lymphoma, but scientists are convinced that other types of cancer can be used.
