Indonesia is on alert for another tsunami that could hit the country, while the death toll from a large wave that hit the country on Saturday has reached 373.
Officials have warned people living near Anak Krakatau to stay away from the beaches due to continuing eruptions on the mountain of a volcano, which is believed to have caused tsunami.
Indonesia's meteorological agency confirmed the underwater collapse of a part of the volcano that caused a death wave of 10m high that hit the popular beaches of South Sumatra and the western peak of Java.
Sutop Purwo Nugrah, from the country's National Disaster Management Agency, warned that the death toll from Saturday's disaster “will continue to rise”, while search for lifeless bodies continues.
At least 1,000 people were injured and nearly 12,000 coastal residents were forced to be forcibly evacuated to higher ground, following warnings that there might be another tsunami. /Periscopi
