AMK Director Ferki Fyza was hosted in Macedonia by counterpart Merita Mustaf

In 18.12.2018 Kosovo Institute of Metrology Director-General (AMK) Ferki Feyza, accompanied by APC officials, paid an official visit to the Macedonian Bureau of Metrology, where she was received by the General Director of this office Merita Mustafi and staff. The possibility of co-operation between the two institutions [...] was discussed during this meeting.
During this meeting, the possibility of co-operation between the two institutions of the respective countries was discussed for exchange of experiences and study visits, as well as for other complementary forms of co-operation.
During this meeting, AMK Fyza Director presented the need for a co-operation in the field of metrology, not only with Macedonia but with other countries in the region, in order to overcome the obstacles presented to companies in the free movement of goods, as a result of not knowing certificates.
The possibility of harmonising procedures, tariffs, bilateral and multilateral agreements for reducing these non-tariff barriers to free movement of goods between our countries. Also, Mr.
Fyza proposed that the possibility of non-recognition of the primary ethalons in our countries and on the basis of an agreement between the authorities be regulated, which would pave the way for greater access to the development of the respective agencies' capacities and their co-operation.
It was the first visit to this level between the Kosovo authorities and Macedonia, and on both sides agreed that in the first part of 2019 a Memorandum of Understanding between the two authorities would be signed, as a first step in establishing and establishing a co-operation in the field of metrology, which is of great importance to business facilities in the function of free movement of goods.
