According to the Journalists' Foundation and Writers, there are 200 Turkish citizens in Kosovo sought by Turkey's authorities.
Six were secretly expelled several months ago. They were directors of several well-known open schools as part of the school network financed by cleric Fetullah Gylenn.
Sending them to Turkey brought Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj's decision to dismiss Interior Minister Flamur Sefaj and Secret Service chief Driton Gashi, who were removed from those positions due to the executive chief's non-information in question, reports TopChannel.
Kosovo institutional officials have said the issue of “gylenists” is just an isolated case for which the government has taken immediate measures that this will not happen again. However, according to analyst Donik Salova, this act will affect Kosovo's European path.
Meanwhile, the Turkish MP in the Kosovo Assembly, Myfera Shinik, has backed the expulsion of six “gylenists”, saying everything has happened within legal limits. She has stressed that those arrested, except pose risks to Turkey, are dangerous to Kosovo as well.
