According to data from the Kosovo Customs provided by KALLXO.com they are mainly imported from China, and this year there has been a marked increase in their import.
But according to this data, it turns out that the interest in fireworks has dropped and that it has increased for other tools that are pyrotechnic.
From the beginning of January 2018 to December 12th of this year, over 1,000 pounds [108 thousand kg] of pyrotechnic vehicles have been imported, costing about 111,000 euros worth of customs, while in 2017 there have been about 45 thousand pounds worth of customs worth 62 thousand euros.
As for products imported in 2018, it turns out that fireworks are smaller than they were in 2017, with more than 39,000 pounds [9 thousand kg] in equipment.
Last year, the import of fireworks has been about 44,000 pounds [4,000 kg] and other vehicles with only 735 pounds [735 kg].
Mustafa: The sale of pyrotechnic tools will only be licensed
And Destan Mustafa of the Department of Public Security at the Ministry of Internal Affairs said that selling these tools would only be done by those who will be licensed and authorised for this trade.
The sale will be made only by authorized and licensed people for trade or retail for fireworks. And we've had co-operation with local inspectors every year with regard to the irregular sale of pyrotechnic tools, even this year we will continue the same co-operation”, Mustafa said.
He also showed categories that will be allowed for use.
“Fireworks of category 1 that present very low risk and level of negligible voice and aim to be used in isolated places, including fireworks meant to be used within settlements. Fireworks of category 2 that present low risk and low level of voice and aim to be used in open and isolated places; Fireworks of category 3 that present middle risk, which are intended to be used in large and open places, and have a level of noise that does not harm human health”, he said.
Mustafa added that the fireworks of category four that pose high risk, aimed at being used only by persons with specialized preparation, are commonly known as 12-year-old experience fireworks, 16 and 18.
Days earlier, Trade and Industry Minister Endrit Shala had made a decision to check economic and verified operators if they are licensed and meet the criteria for trade and supply of pyrotechnic/fitechnic products.
He has also forced the Market Inspectorate not to sell these products to children under the age of 18, as well as if the use guide is not in the official languages of the Republic of Kosovo.
So have some municipalities.
