“The Washington Post” accuses Saudi Crown Prince Muhamed bin Selman that he shamelessly lies to avoid the inevitable responsibility for the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, adding in this direction that there is also the assistance of American President Donald Trump's administration, broadcast Anadolu Agency (AA).
“Trump defends Muhammad bin Salman's lies. Congress must insist on the truth”, is the title of the article published by the American newspaper.
The re-exemplifies text that on Thursday the Saudi prosecutor in Riyadh issued a statement that was contrary to already known facts and that fully entitles Prince Muhammad of responsibility.
The Washington Post” further continues and says Trump has accepted this revealing statement, even though he previously promised he would search for the truth in the smallest detail.
The US Treasury Department imposed sanctions against 17 persons suspected of killing Khashogg, but from these sanctions were excluded Prince Muhamed bin Selman and other senior Saudi Arabia intelligence officials”, the text says.
The paper further adds that Trump continues to support Muhamed bin Selman, despite the fact that the American Intelligence Agency (CIA) also concluded that he had ordered the killing of Khahogg.
The same source says Trump refuses to admit Mohammed bin Selmani's guilt because it would mean that the White House was wrong when he chose 33-year-old Saudi prince for a strategic partner.
The Washington Post” calls on the American Congress to take steps to point US foreign policy into the truth and not to lies.
The paper further reports that three republican senators and two Democrats will ask Congress to sanction the head of state involved in the Khashogg murder for 30 days. The proposal to suspend the sale of American weapons to Saudi Arabia has also been warned.
Tennesse Senator Bob Corker wrote on Twitter that everything indicates that the order to kill Khahogg has been given by Muhammad bin Salman. He said the Trump administration should ensure that the entire chain of responsibility is faithfully uncovered before Saudi Arabia liquidates the perpetrators of the assassination.
And Vermont's senator, Bernie Sanders, also called on Washington to review relations with Saudi Arabia.
“CIA confirms that Bean Salman ordered the killing of Khashogg. The United States needs to review relations with the criminal dictatorship and end the support of the war in Yemen”, Saunders said.
On the other hand, Trump last night announced that the White House by Tuesday would have a full report on the murder of journalist Khashoggi, who he said was something terrible.
The columnist of the newspaper “The Post Washington”, Khasoggi disappeared on October 2nd at the Saudi Consulate building in Istanbul. The Turkish prosecutor's office found that Khahoggi drowned immediately after entering the consulate and that his body was broken and destroyed.
Saudi Arabia authorities later acknowledged that Khashoggi was killed without leaving the consulate, as he initially claimed.
The investigation into the case is still under way with emphasis on the search for Khasogg's mortore remains.
