Kremlin's spokesman announced on Thursday that the talks were confirmed by the White House a day after its leader, Donald Trump, said he was planning to cancel it due to the tension situation between Ukraine and Russia.
Negotiations seem to have been intense. Ukrainian President Petro Porosenko has held a telephone conversation with the American president, whom I have asked to intervene to evacuate Russian military troops deployed on the border with Ukraine.
Poroshenko also called on NATO member states, including Germany, to send warships to the Azov Sea to support his country in facing the Russian opponent.
President Putin insists that Russian forces moved towards last weekend when they seized three Ukrainian ships and their crew.
The measures have been rejected by Ukraine, which claims Russia's true goal is to invade the Azov Sea, as it did with Crime four years ago, and then with eastern Ukraine.
Leaders of 20 world nations will arrive in Argentina this Thursday (29 November) to participate in the G20 summit, whose focus will be to improve trade agreements among member states.
