Thirty-three vehicles crash, dozens die

Rescue teams said a heavy truck lost control and crashed into the lane of small vehicles while waiting at a payment station on Lanzhou-Haikou Highway at 7:21. The tax station is near Lanzhou, the capital of Gansu.

According to Chinese state news agency Xinhua, the truck driver told authorities that his brakes failed as he went down to a double near the payment station.
