He has written on Facebook that at the Paris Peace Forum, he has sought to support our and European efforts to strengthen peace through dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, with the European Union's mediation.
Balkan citizens are well aware of the conflict of interests, influences and ideology. But the democratic world should by no means allow destructive forces to prevail over the minds and capitals of the Balkans, Europe and beyond. Opposers of peace are aware that a peaceful agreement between Kosovo and Serbia would affect their destructive plan, a plan intended to break Europe, break up democratic standards, deceive and divide Europeans and impose an old morality, which has suffered and endured during the previous generations. But as long as they know very well why they oppose peace between Kosovo and Serbia, we also know very well why we have to engage with every force to achieve it. Our people owe themselves and the new generations to eliminate the front line that has hurt our region for centuries”, wrote President Thaci, adding that we owe peace to Europe as well, because it is the only way we can guarantee our citizens' freedom, respect for human fundamental rights and the economic development of our countries.
