Supreme Court Judge Ruth Bader Ginsburg in the United States has broken three ribs after he fell Wednesday, the Court has announced.
She fell into her office at the Supreme Court in Washington.
Ginsburg, 85, has gone home because he's not feeling well and then heading towards university hospital, George Washington on Thursday morning, was said in the statement.
After the checks, it has been found to have broken three ribs on the left side of the body and that it is now subject to treatment.
This means that Ginsburg, the highest liberal wing judge, will not be present at the inaugural ceremony of Brett Kavanaugh, whose appointment has sparked protests because he is accused of sexual misconduct.
His appointment, confirmed last month by the Senate, has restored most conservatives to the nine-member Court.
This court has the final say in cases such as abortion, weapons and other regulations.
American President Donald Trump, nominated Kavanaugh, will be part of his inauguration ceremony.
Ginsburg was named Judge of the Supreme Court in 1993 by then US President Bill Clinton. (REL)
