Muhamet Arifi, suspected of gunfighting with police officials in Gjakova, has appeared before the tribunal today after prosecutor Ramiz Buzhala has been calling for a month's detention appointment.

Suspect Arifi was not declared anything about the prosecutor's request for the detention assignment, except that he has said that “I can't deal with”.

Arifi is suspected to have participated in the gunfight with police, located on the “Conference of Bujan” in Gjakova.

He added that there is good-based doubt that the defendant has committed criminal acts that are also proven by the actual evidence.

Prosecutor Buzhala said that if the defendant is released, he will influence his associates with whom he allegedly acted critical night, the same are on the run.

On the other hand, the suspect's defender Arifi lawyer Gani Hoxha, rejecting the prosecutor's request for the appointment of a month's detention measure, said legal conditions have not been met.

I think there is no doubt that the same one did these works. It is true that my protector was nearing the event and was arrested by police officials. But the same has been intended to meet with a woman and, in the case of arrest, has not resisted”, lawyer Gani Hoxha said.

“Taking into account his state of health, facial and body injuries, and also that my defender has been brought to court bare, I consider that the prosecution should set up an alternative measure such as domestic arrest, since the same is married and has a child and has to undergo medical treatment”, lawyer Hoxha said.

After that, preliminary procedure judge Ilirjana Hoti said that regarding the detention assignment, she will decide with particular decision.
