After a long day at work, many people have nothing more relaxing than a good sleep. How, though, can you avoid falling asleep despite fatigue? How can we solve the problem? Just wearing a pair of socks.
According to a study conducted in Basel, Switzerland, there is a direct conglomeration between the difficulty of falling asleep and wearing socks in bed. The temperature of our limbs, or hands and feet, helps to sleep.
According to an experiment conducted by Swiss researchers in two different groups of people, most of them fell asleep easier when their feet were warm.
This is because blood vessels expand with heat, allowing a comfortable temperature to spread rapidly and uniformly throughout the body. After that optimum is achieved, the body begins to cool progressively: It slows heart rate and at the same time the production of melatonin, the sleep hormone, increases.
To eliminate turning for hours in bed, you need to keep your feet warm by wearing a comfortable, thick pair of socks depending on the season.
