Security co-operation settles political disputes in Southeast Europe

Interior Affairs Minister Ekrem Mustafa , is participating in the works of “Regional Forum of Interior Ministrys for countering internal corruption”, which is being held in Sofia, Bulgaria.

The forum's main goal is to enhance operational co-operation in countering internal corruption, as well as to discuss opportunities for more joint activities at the regional level in terms of this co-operation.

In this case, Minister Mustafa, in his discussion, offered the full co-operation of the MPB of the Republic of Kosovo and all agencies under its authority, including the Kosovo Police. Minister Mustafa called on his colleagues from other countries in the region to put aside any opposition that might exist between as a result of different political attitudes and views.

“Co-operating in the security field, we will be closer to each other even in resolving political disputes still present in Southeast Europe”, Minister Mustafa said.

He took an example of good relations between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Bulgaria as an inspiration for possible co-operation everywhere.

Otherwise, at Bulgaria's initiative, in 2016 a network for enhanced regional co-operation of internal security units (NERCISU) with the participation of relevant units of the interior affairs ministries of several Balkan countries. The network functions as a platform for active regional operational co-operation with line 24/7 for co-ordination and exchange of information and intelligence.
